LED power supplies in general

With the LED switched-mode power supply, the mains voltage is converted into a regulated output voltage. After filtering and rectification, the AC input voltage is converted into a high-frequency, wave-shaped pulsating voltage using a pulse-width modulated semiconductor switch and transformed into the required voltage on the secondary side using a transformer. It is then rectified and filtered again. The higher-performance power supply units are all equipped with Power Factor Correction (PFC).
